In the media, Yoga is often portrayed as a physical exercise, demonstrated by an ultra slim, super bendy person, who just glows with perfect health… Truth is, true Yoga is nothing like that…it is far, far more!
Whatever your age, shape, flexibility, strength (or lack of), my Holistic Yoga classes welcome and support you just as you are. Yoga is fundamentally about calming the mind, which we do through a series of mindful movement/postures and breath work. As the mind becomes calmer, a stillness and clarity can emerge, which in turn gives us a better perspective on ourselves and events happening in our lives.
Over time, whatever your ‘starting point’, a deeper awareness of your True or Inner Self starts to emerge, some call it your Soul Self. You don’t need to believe in any religion or philosophy to gain a better insight into this inner world. The practice of true* Yoga gently removes the false images we have of ourselves, which then creates a calmer, more confident you.
Here’s my musings on being ultra bendy (or not…)
(* I say ‘true’ yoga as opposed to ‘fitness’ yoga. The latter is appropriated and does not carry the breadth and depth of the therapeutic and philosophical roots of yoga).
Traditionally yoga was only ever taught on a one-to-one basis, ensuring that your personal needs (physical, mental, emotional or spiritual) were met. I take into consideration your goals by asking you to complete a confidential health questionnaire prior to starting your classes. This helps me to design and teach the classes in a more personal way.

Wednesday – Private Yoga Classes & Coaching for Wellbeing
Traditionally, yoga was only ever taught on a one-to-one basis. Tailoring your practice to your physical, mental and emotional needs is an art – and can bring swift results when you follow a home practice designed just for you. It doesn’t need to be time consuming – small and often are key to change.
Wellbeing coaching offers a safe listening space, tools for change, and accountability; checking in with your wellbeing coach keeps you focussed on what you’ve committed to, and you receive support and encouragement. I’m here for you.
